Crown & Ash: The Conversations Behind a Business Journey

Posted on

Sometimes a conversation becomes a turning point. In this episode of Crown & Ash, the guest traces his journey from Ecuador to electrical business ownership through family responsibilities, unfamiliar work and people who encouraged him to consider a different path.

He recalls arriving in Pennsylvania at 21 without speaking English, translating the newspaper one word at a time and learning from his younger brothers. After the warehouse where he worked closed, he says an instructor steered him toward industrial electricity. Later, encouragement from a supervisor helped him consider working for himself.

The conversation also explores what came after that decision. He describes a difficult first two and a half years, when earning homeowners’ trust and finding clients required patience. From his perspective, quality work, referrals and lasting relationships with early customers became central to building his business.

Alongside those experiences, host and guest compare their views on education, discuss family support and reflect on helping children understand the value of what they have.
